Something just occurred to me …I never owned a Tamagotchi, but it seems that that toy softened us up. I thought about this when I realized how I tend my iPhone. It’s always a concern: is it on, is it receiving, are there new messages, should I be checking it, is there anything I should do? And so I wonder: what is the new technology that is softening us up? And I think it might well be something bigger than a Tamagotchi, maybe something like …self-driving cars. I’m not sure what they would be softening us up for, but I would imagine it’s something paradigm-shifting, as the smart phone was.
