The long weekend continues – now into a blisteringly cold morning (23ºF). Sunny, clear, and crisp to the point of shattering on contact with it.
I’m inside, my central heating is on, and, since I’m in the sunroom, I even feel broiled. The rest of the house feels vaguely cool, though.
I dug around a bit on Patreon and learned there are people making five-figure incomes (per month!) on the site. Mind-boggling. I also stumbled across an article that compared Jordan Peterson (who is one of Patreon’s high earners) to …Luther. At first, that seems kind of ridiculous. But there actually are some apt (and abstract) parallels: printing press leveraged by Luther, Youtube/social media leveraged by Peterson (and not just him, obviously); shaking up an unbelievably entrenched orthodoxy (both) in favor of heterodoxy. Or heresy, actually. That sort of thing.
